Allotments

The Parish Council has 12 allotment plots located on Smishops Lane, Loders consisting of six full plots and six half plots.  Allotments are very popular as the past-time of growing your own fruit and vegetables has increased in popularity in recent years and some tenants have been successfully cultivating their allotment plots for many years.

The allotments are rented on an annual basis from 1st October each year and the rent includes allotment insurance cover.  The rents are reviewed on an annual basis.

If you are interested in taking on an allotment plot, please contact Cllr Ros Newberry, the Councillor responsible for the running of the allotments or alternatively contact the Clerk.  Currently there are no vacant allotment plots but those interested in taking on an allotment plot can be added to the allotment waiting list.  Allotment plot holders must reside with 3 miles of Loders Parish and residents of the parish take precedence on the allotment waiting list over those who live outside the parish.

During the annual inspection of council property which takes place in June each year, the Council judge 'The Best Kept Allotment' award which is based on allotment orderliness and productivity.
